• Dartmouth Academy Right on Track for Excellence

  Dartmouth Academy Principal Nick Hindmarsh congratulated his team of teachers and support
  staff as the results of an OfSTED inspection of the Academy were released. The inspectors
  graded the Academy in four areas: Behaviour and Safety of pupils, Quality of
  Leadership, Quality of Teaching, and Achievement and Attainment. There are 5 grades
  used BY OFSTED: Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement, Serious Weaknesses, and
  Special Measures. The Academy was graded as ‘Requires Improvement to be Good’. The
  Academy was graded as Good for Behaviour and Leadership and RI for Quality of Teaching
  and Achievement and Attainment. Due to the time of year and the way in which exam results
  are collated and verified the massive improvement in examination outcomes by GCSE
  students at the Academy this summer could not be given as much weight in their judgment
  as those of 2012. However, the latest results allowed the inspection team to comment on
  the fact that the Academy’s standards are rapidly improving and doing so at a faster rate
  than nationally.
