  • Dartmouth, Keeping it local

    February 24 2015

In April the Dartmouth BID will be launching a Trade Local campaign to encourage all residents of Dartmouth and surrounding villages to support local businesses. All Dartmouth & Kingswear residents will qualify for a free Dartmouth loyalty card which will also be available at a small charge to people living within surrounding villages. Businesses are invited to support this campaign by offering a special “local deal” which could be a small discount or a free gift. (Eg a cup of tea, a greetings card or a pen.) Consumers can claim their “local deal” by showing their card when purchasing either any item or meeting a minimum spend - whatever your preference.
Anyone involved will be sent a window sticker & poster allowing shoppers to know which businesses are participating, and a logo for them to detail if desired their website and/or promotional leaflets. They will receive a simple data capture sheet to help monitor how many people are using their cards and details of their involvement will also be featured on the TIC/BID town website

Since the BID launched we have met many business owners who are lesser known to locals because they are not based in the centre of town or are simply service providers without a public office. This means that we have some wonderful
traders who remain unknown to many locals. To help address this the
campaign will launch with a special Dartmouth Trade Show within the Guildhall
    on Friday 17th April 4 pm - 6 pm and Saturday 18th April 10 am - 5 pm. Free
trade stands are available to these lesser know businesses on a first come first
    served basis.
People will be able to register for their cards at this event and the TIC will also
be there to explain how businesses can really benefit from using the website to
    support this venture.
We really hope that everyone will support this initiative and If you would like to
know more about any aspect of this campaign and/or would like to register your
“local deals” please email Francesca Johnson via .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
