THE South Hams Newspapers has taken to the airwaves.
Karen Perrow, the group’s Dartmouth reporter, had the tables turned on her last week when she agreed to Radio Dart’s request for an interview on air.
The one-to-one with broadcaster and station managing director Stephen Kearney covered topics of headline news, key issues affecting Dartmouth – and some banter and musical choices.
‘There were a few minor pauses but thankfully Stephen was a very considerate host and I enjoyed it a lot,’ said Karen.
‘More than anything, I was delighted to be invited on to the programme and to be part of the listening heart of the Dartmouth community.’
It is hoped the collaboration will become a regular feature on the internet-based radio station.
Stephen said: ‘I’m really pleased to have Karen and the Dartmouth Chronicle on board. Radio and newspapers are natural partners and together we can enrich the listener and reader experience. Exploring the main stories once a month together will give listeners an opportunity to dig a bit deeper.
‘I’m sure we will end up bringing in guests for discussion and debate. Dartmouth just got more vibrant.’
